Enrollment Policies

Our Enrollment Policies

NOTE: All classes will run on the condition that the minimum requirement of four (4) participants confirm attendance either in-person or virtually.

Withdrawal Policy

The following paragraph is sent to all students in Alliance Career Training’s confirmation email:

Reschedule / Cancellation Policy

If you need to reschedule or cancel your class, please notify Alliance Career Training at least 5 business days in advance for applications training and 10 business days in advance for technical training and we will gladly accommodate your request.  Please understand that Alliance Career Training orders materials and reserves a seat for you.  If less than the required notice is given, we regret that we cannot give refunds, although we can schedule you into the same class at a later date.

Early Withdrawal

Students who withdraw from a class at least 5 business days (for applications classes, or 10 business days for technical classes) prior to the date of the class are considered “Early Withdrawals.”  If a student chooses not to reschedule into another class, Alliance Career Training will cancel the invoice at the student’s request.

Early Withdrawal = “no harm, no foul.”

Late Withdrawal

If a student withdraws from a class with less than 5 business days notice (or 10 days for technical classes), then the enrollment is considered to be a “Late Withdrawal.”  Invoices for “Late Withdrawals” are still valid and will not be canceled, however, the student can reschedule into another class date under the “Retake Policy” (below).

No Show

If a student enrolls in a class, but does not give prior notification of wanting to withdraw and does not show up for the class, then that enrollment is considered a “No Show.”   Invoices for “No Shows” are still valid and will not be canceled, however, the student can reschedule into another class date under the “Retake Policy” (below).

Standby

If a student wants to reserve space in a class that has been sold out, the student may request to be enrolled as a “Standby.”  If another student withdraws prior to the class, Alliance Career Training will give the seat to the next Standby student and will notify them of the change of status.  Standby students may also arrive on the day of the class to see if a seat opens up on that day (the odds of this happening are usually pretty good, especially since Alliance Career Training does not intentionally over-book our classes.  We don’t act like the airlines!)

Retake Policy

Students are allowed to retake a class one time within 3 months of the original date of the class, at no additional charge, provided there is space available in a class.  To register as a “Retake,” please follow the normal enrollment procedures (by phone or email).  Retake students must bring their original book to class (we don’t give a second book).  If you are retaking the class because you missed your original class and never got a book, we will keep track of that, and we’ll provide you with a book.

If You’re Running Late…

If a student is more than 15 minutes late to class, their seat may be given to another student waiting on Standby.  If you are going to be more than ten minutes late, it is a good idea to call us to let us know that you are still coming.  Students who arrive more than 20 minutes late may not be admitted to a class, as it is an unfair interruption to the instructor and the other students who did arrive on time.

Earning a Certificate of Completion

Students must complete 80% of their training in order to receive a Certificate of Completion. That’s about 5 hours of a one day class.

Reschedule Policy

If you can’t make it to a class for any reason, please give us as much notice as you can (remember the policies above, you want to be an “Early Withdrawal” if you can’t make it to class).  We understand things happen.  Alliance Career Training will gladly reschedule your class one time, at no charge.  If you need to reschedule it again after the first time, we can support that request, but Alliance Career Training charges $50 to help us defray the cost of these subsequent reschedules.

Paying for Class with Vouchers

Many of Alliance Career Training’s clients receive discounts through the purchase of training vouchers.  If your company pays with vouchers, it is your responsibility to bring the voucher(s) with you on the day of class.  Please give the receptionist your training voucher when you check in.

If you have forgotten your voucher or were not issued one by your company’s training coordinator, Alliance Career Training will still let you attend the class.  We will have you sign a form promising to mail the voucher to us within five days.  See, we’re reasonable people!
